DECKS AND PATIOS

The architectural style of your house will influence the design of your deck that will add value and enjoyment to your home. Decks can be freestanding, octagon, casual curved, bi-level, mid-level, custom split, trellis, or a patio deck. Decks, if over 30 feet off the ground, will have to have rails to meet code and be safe.

Since 1978, Atlanta Sunrooms Architectural Designs has built decks from pressure treated lumber, cypress, cedar, redwood, as well as composites such as Trex, Timbertech, Evergrain, Gossen, Latitudes, Certainteed, Classic Manor, Eon, Fiberon, Veranda, Geodek, Procell, Timber Last, Weather Best, Smart Deck, PVC vinyl, Azek, and vinyl decking. Rails can be classic, colonial pickets, lattice, balusters, Chippendale, sunbursts, cable, aluminum, or vinyl. Caps can be finials, balls, or metal tops of copper or steel.

Atlanta Sunrooms Architectural Designs builds its deck to meet code for additions with 2x10 on 16 centers with joist hangers, bolted through to foundation, set on pier footings, double plated on ledger board, with sides and front of 4x4 to 6x6 depending on height off ground. Our decks are built over code for your peace of mind for safety.

Patios can be as simple a slab of concrete, stone, brick pavers, natural stone, or rock layered, to create your own meeting place to grill, entertain and relax. Of all the materials available for landscaping, stone has the most natural-looking and enduring qualities.  With its inherent versatility, structural integrity and powerful impact, stone inspires endless design possibilities. Flag stones steppers draw visitors off the patio and into the garden. Stepping stones, flag stones, gravel, and mosaic walkways create a story book path to follow.

Patios are the foundation of outdoor living; an extension of your home’s living space.  A patio should be versatile and provide room for relaxing, dining, entertaining, playing and other similar outdoor activities. When you use stone to make a beautiful and inviting outdoor room, you’ll enjoy its season-to-season practically with little or no maintenance. Convert your patio into an outdoor kitchen.  Use it as your private retreat, or a wrap it around a pool or water feature.

Atlanta Sunrooms Architectural Design’s concrete creations can resurface your old ugly gray concrete to look like stone, brick, slate, rock or any masonry finish with Star Dek concrete resurfacing.  Let us install your masonry walls of stacked stone, or dry stacked walls. Retaining walls, accenting walls, edging, rock gardens, and water features such as ponds, water falls, streams, and dry beds are Atlanta Sunrooms Architectural Design’s specialty.

Patios, decks, paths, steps, walls, water features, are all included in Atlanta Sunrooms Architectural Designs expertise to make your home a vacation paradise.
